Training Manager
Dwayne Pipkins has been active with Youth Direct for 10 years and has recruited hundreds of volunteers, and attended over 70 Youth Direct events. He is above all, a dedicated servant. At Westside Baptist Church, he is a Deacon, a men's ministry teacher, an Evangelism teacher, and a Mission Coordinator. Dwayne partners closely with his wife Julia. Together they have ministered in Niccaragua for the last three years. Both sing in the church choir and are active with a prayer team.
Dwayne moved from Oklahoma to Texas in 1987.
With Youth Direct, Dwayne has brought hundreds of new volunteers to events. He has taken on many roles with a positive spirit, Team Leader in a youth dorm, Master of Ceremonies for our programs, Logistics Coordinator as he divides volunteers into youth dorms, Prayer Leader, and has presented messages during our time of devotions. Dwayne never turns down an opportunity to serve and has a joyful spirit. His favorite Scriptures are 2 Corinthians and Romans 5:8.
He has coordinated over 10 training sessions and has provided training for many volunteers. His style of evangelism with youth is relational. With ease and no pressure he shares the Gospel with teens that listen to him attentively. Often, he has a circle of youth around him eager for a message of hope and the promise of eternal life.
Dwayne has organizational skills. He has an attention to details and is a people person, engaging and motivating others. As a Trainer, he always encourages his listeners and gives God all the credit.
